There are 3 types of Bangkok river piers on the map:

N33 to S3 - the officially numbered piers that are served by public boats. Piers to the north of Central Pier are marked with ‘N’ and ascending numbers. Piers to the south of Central Pier are marked with ‘S’ and ascending numbers.

- the newly added piers that are known only by name, as they are located next to some of Bangkok's most famous landmarks. New piers are mainly used by the tourist boat services.

- the smaller piers that are mainly used by cross-river ferries.
