Chao Phraya Express Boat Routes

There are 5 Chao Phraya Express Boat routes operating on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok:

  • Blue Flag
  • Orange Flag
  • Yellow Flag
  • Green Yellow Flag
  • Red Flag

Orange Flag Boat is the most affordable Chao Phraya Express Boat service, running between Nonthaburi Pier (N30) and Wat Rajsingkorn Pier (S3). The Orange Flag boat costs less and is a good alternative to the pricier tourist boat.

Yellow Flag Boat is the express service running from Nonthaburi Pier (N30) to Sathorn Pier (Central). Previously, these boats were operating during rush hour only. However, now they also operate at the daytime, when they change the Orange Flag Boat, with several additional stops made along the route.

Green Yellow Flag Boat is the longest route, connecting Pakkret Pier (N33) with Sathorn Pier (Central). These boats are even less frequent than Yellow Flag boats and operate on weekdays and during rush hour only.

Red Flag Boat is an express route from Nonthaburi Pier (N30) to Sathorn Pier (Central) running on weekdays, during the morning rush hour, and in one direction only.

Bangkok Boat Travel Tips

The air-conditioned Thai Smile Boat is a good alternative for travelers looking for a more comfortable and environmentally friendly service to explore the Chao Phraya River. If you will be using the electric boat and the electric bus of the same company (Thai Smile Bus) several times a day, consider getting a Thai Go Day Pass, which allows unlimited traveling on 3 boat routes and all Thai Smile Bus routes for 1, 2, or 3 days.

As traffic in the city center is often jammed, public boats can be used as a reliable way to get to the most popular Bangkok river cruise departure points on time.
