Si Phraya Pier is one of the busiest Chao Phraya River piers in Bangkok, frequently used by tourists and locals who come here to take public boats and cross-river ferries. Discover everything you need to know about Si Phraya Pier, such as boat routes, timetables, tickets, how to get there, and the best things to do and places to stay nearby.

Si Phraya Pier

The Pier

Si Phraya Pier is located on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya River next to the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok.

The pier consists of two parts:

The public boat pier, where you can board the public boats running on different routes of the Chao Phraya Express Boat and Thai Smile Boat.

The ferry pier, where you can board the shuttle boat to ICONSIAM and the cross-river ferry that takes you to Khlong San Pier on the other side of the Chao Phraya River.

The main pier is located on Captain Bush Alley, on the left side of the hotel, while the ferry pier for taking the cross-river ferry and the shuttle boat is located on the right side of the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel. Make sure to choose the correct pier for boarding the boat, as the piers are not directly connected. To walk from one pier to the other, you need to get out on the main road.

The way to Si Phraya Ferry Pier from the road is not well-marked but you just need to walk along this pathway between the hotel and River City (see below).

Boats to board at Si Phraya Pier

You can board different types of boats at Si Phraya Pier, as it's one of the most important Chao Phraya River piers in Bangkok. Discover the shuttle boat and public boat services that can be boarded at the pier.

Chao Phraya Express Boat

The Chao Phraya Express Boat is the main public boat service operating along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. The company operates several boat routes with a different number of stops and varied timetables, as some of them operate on weekdays and during rush hour only. The routes are recognized by the color of the flag the boat flies.

Orange Flag Boat to Si Phraya Pier

Most of the public boat routes make a stop at Si Phraya Pier before getting to their final stop at Sathorn Pier or south of it.

Orange Flag Boat

Orange Flag Boat was the most frequent Bangkok public boat service on the Chao Phraya River, which runs from Nonthaburi Pier, located north of the city, to Wat Rajsingkorn Pier, which is found just before Asiatique. However, the boats on this route now operate only on weekdays, with boat departures scheduled in the morning and late afternoon.

Yellow Flag Boat

The original route of the Yellow Flag Boat connects Sathorn Pier with Nonthaburi Pier during rush hour on weekdays. After the latest schedule update, the Yellow Flag boats are changing the Orange Flag boats and operating daily, with additional stops and the terminal stop at Wat Rajsingkorn Pier during the daytime and on weekends. All Yellow Flag boats make a stop at Si Phraya Pier.

Green-Yellow Flag Boat

Green Yellow Flag boats operate between Pakkret Pier (N33) and Sathorn Pier, with departures from Sathorn Pier scheduled Monday–Friday in the late afternoon.

All the above-mentioned boats can also be taken in the opposite direction for getting from Si Phraya Pier to Sathorn Pier.

If you are planning to use public boats and the BTS Skytrain frequently, save time and make traveling easier by purchasing a Rabbit Card ticket online and conveniently picking it up at the airport.

Thai Smile Boat

Thai Smile Boat, previously known as MINE Smart Ferry, is an electric public boat service operating on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. It's a more environmentally friendly alternative to the Chao Phraya Express Boat.

Thai Smile Boat to Si Phraya Pier

Thai Smile Boat is currently operating three electric boat routes along the river. Only one of them can be boarded at Si Phraya Pier.

The Urban Line (Purple Line) connects Sathorn Pier with Phra Nang Klao Bridge Pier in the suburbs and makes a stop at Si Phraya. Boats on this route operate daily and depart in the morning and in the afternoon.

ICONSIAM shuttle boat

The ICONSIAM shuttle boat route is a cross-river ferry service that connects Si Phraya Pier with ICONSIAM Pier. To board the shuttle boat to ICONSIAM, you need to choose the ferry pier, which is located on the right side of the hotel (the pier was changed recently).

Starting from 15 November 2025, the shuttle boat is operating from 09:30 to 22:30.

The ferry operates from 06:00 to 23:00 and, after the latest update in April 2026, costs 6 THB.

Boat tickets at Si Phraya Pier

To take the boat from the pier, you normally need to buy a ticket before boarding the boat.

At the pier, you will find desks selling public boat and shuttle boat tickets that need to be purchased at the ticket desk of the selected boat company, Chao Phraya Express or Thai Smile Boat. If there is no one at the desk, you will be able to purchase a ticket on the boat.

Unless you have a Rabbit Card, to board any of the public boats operated by Chao Phraya Express Boat, you need to purchase a ticket at the ticket desk.

To board the Thai Smile Boat, you can buy a ticket at the desk or use the Thai Go Day Pass, covering the three electric boat routes and all Thai Smile Bus routes.

To buy tickets for the ICONSIAM shuttle boat, you need to approach the ICONSIAM ticket desk at the ferry pier (on the left side).
